Machine shop showdown!
My favorite machinist (RIP John Edwards @ Costa Mesa R&D) passed away over a year ago. I'm in need of a good machinist for basics for the next motor I'm starting to build up. Any opinions on RIMCO vs EMW for the basics? * Case deck, line bore, and clearance for stroker * Basic connecting rod stuff * Cylinder inspection and honing The normal stuff... Thanks. -Aaron |

Yea but I need info now in 2023 Best Bob @burton73 call European Motor Works, they did my motor and he does just about every displacement and has been around a long time. Owner is George. We are at Jeorge's and he's totally taken care of us on the 2170 plus very fast. He checked the case and we do not need a line bore in the RAT case. The HAM RAT heads are good just needed a nice valve job and new rings for the pistons. Replacing the Oil pump as the low oil pressure was from a bad oil pump type 1 unit , new bearings. We will know the fate of the RAT cam next week. The machinist is your best friend in this case. Working out just what you need. Best Bob B (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) |
