I have a new battery tray. It measures approx. 9 1/2" x 7 1/4".
The class of battery I found is 42, but it seems too long. I also see a 24 series. What size battery do I need and please suggest a brand. Thanks mucho? Chip |

I use a 24 as it's the same one in my daily, but we can go as small as a Miata battery with no problem.
As far as off the shelf brand, Walmart gold top. Made by Johnson Controls which is the top battery maker in the US. Plus it's much cheaper than parts stores these days. Others will recommend a more specialized battery if it fits your budget, or just read one of the other threads. |

I have also found some 42 sized batteries not to fit on the tray without trimming the battery footprint. (in my case it was an Optima RedTop.) Right now I'm using an Odyssey 925 sealed battery and its awesome. Zach |

Best for the 914 is a sealed battery. |

I was asking around the other day about batteries. I do not know if this is gospel. I was told IF you do not use the correct group battery for the car you have, the battery will not be warrantied. The only way I see that happening is IF it is dealer installed.
