May be easier yet. Pretty sure the one pictured is commercially available. I can bring these in should be in the $4 a pop range maybe less.

Of course I could make them exactly like factory, but given the market is fairly tight as far as those that require them, may not make economical sense to do that. I've been proven wrong before. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Give me a day or so and I can see.
Mark

PS I think I have a sample too.

Anyone know if the plastic was originally clear or if it was opaque? Or possibly more opaque but with exposure to solvents it made it more clear? @914ltd Brad any ideas here?

Ii was a translucent opaque white nylon color. . exactly like the plugs that go in the rear trunk floor
Any 'clearness' was due to the thinness of the plastic. . They were not yellow when new but aged that way

Based on mine and others I have seen, I don't think they were ever completely clear but translucent with an amber tint which may or may not have darkened a bit with age.

I believe it was opaque and yellowed over time.

Thanks in advance. Sumner

The round rain tray tube plugs for 914-6 are part number 914 559 243 10, which were fitted stock to all factory 6 cars and likely be of interest to conversion projects and 4-cylinder cars with the rain tray removed. Our product development department actually has a few NOS examples, and they're semi-translucent white as mentioned above.

Product development has also been considering making the oval plugs used to close off the fuel line holes in the engine compartment when not being used, part number 914 559 245 10.

We agree with Mikey914; there's probably little or no profit in these considering the tooling cost, and would be break-even items at best. But someone should make them. If Mikey914 wants to make them, awesome. If it doesn't make sense for him, we could probably step up and get it done.

We'll keep an eye on this thread to see if we should proceed or not.

This is what 45+ years does to the plugs. I have been looking for replacements for quite awhile and would love to have 914 Rubber come up with them. Willing to pay far more than $4.
Mark I think just about every 914-6 could use a set.
