I need to ship a cedar chest ( clothes type ) from Calif. to Georgia. What would be the best way that wouldn't cost a mint?

Wrap with a harbour freight moving blanket. Buy two heavy duty boxes at home depot. Use one as a left side, one as a right, tape the middle together. Use fedex but make sure to sign up for a free account. Account holders save 10-20%. Bring to your local fedex shipper. Send ground. Depending on size, $50-100.

People might suggest greyhound but in my opinion, it sucks for the sender and sucks for the receiver. I used them once. Never again.

How ever you pack it up, remember to stay under 130" girth+length to avoid the dreaded oversized penalty. As noted, open a FedEx account.

Thanks.

I recently used uship to ship a motor from New York to Boise. It will find the lowest price and show you a comparison.

The "girth" can not exceed 108" before being considered oversized.
W+H+W+H+L=girth.
