I've decided to rebuild and try one of the stock dizzies in my parts pile on my carbed engine rebuild and see how it goes. Engine is mostly stock 2.0 except dual 40IDFs (with vacuum ports) and an Elgin 6408 cam. I've read that the dizzy from a 1.8 Ljet engine is the best for carbs, but I don't have one. Here's what I have to choose from:
039 905 205 - original dizzy on this engine 022 905 205 F - from 1.7L 022 905 205 Q - from 1.7L I have no clue what, if any, differences there are in advance curves between these. I'm planning to just rebuild the 039 dizzy since that's what was original for the engine unless someone says one of the others would be better. I also have a NOS 050 dizzy but want the vacuum advance. TIA. |
