Hi,

I posted photos of the car in March or so last year. We verified that it is a '75, and I have service records going back to the 90's. It was a one-owner car who bought it new in San Diego and used the same mechanic all it's life. It went to his daughter, and she put about 700 miles on it in 7 seven years. Sat for 3. Water had ponded in the rear-trunk and rusted, so I covered it with fiberglas as an interim fix. The rest of the body, including the hell-hole, looks very solid. Mechanic replaced the battery box and put new heads on it about 5k mi. (aka 15 years) ago.

I took it out and autocrossed it a couple times. Was fun. Nothing broke. On the freeway, you should probably pay attention over 90, but I put new brakes, struts, and 195's on it, so it tracks very well. Can't believe I drove a '73 version of this same car at 115-120 mph on the autobahn pretty much every day for 2 years. (The first 3.5 I spent trying to get a jeep over the "m".)

I want to tear up a 914 and turn it into this month's cover car, but mine's too nice for that. I'll sell it to a good home for 6. I bought a brand new, fully everything floor-mat kit from Autohaus, Atlanta for $450 that I'll throw in. It's still in the box, but it's not the '75 color. It's the earlier, lighter-colored charcoal (the interior is dark enough, ya think?) Since it's still in the box, I'm sure the guys there would swap you for the right year.

Anyway, send me a note. I'm especially interested in trading my car for a basket case that I can turn into this month's cover car sometime next year. Thanks for reading this far.

Carl
