My seatbelt retraction is a little lazy on both sides and i'm considering options but I've noticed that I have one chrome top pivot point and one black pivot point. It's a 74 - which is correct? (See pic stolen from @McMark as I'm away from the car)

I'm leaning toward having seatbeltplanet.com rebuild mine (as opposed to replace) in order to keep the original tongues and not have to change the receivers but while I'm at it I'd like to make them match.

Uppers have been black plastic on the spacers in all the cars I've taken apart

Interesting. This is what made me notice - I was missing one of the covers as well and when I ordered one, it ended up being incorrect as the chrome is physically different from the black....

I'll have to check the date codes on the belts to see if I can see anything there...
