My 1970 914 V8 outlaw project is up for sale – I have found another finished 914 local to me that is exactly what I want. If I don’t pick that car up this will no longer be for sale – kind of an either-or situation for me.

1970 1.7l car originally.

The Good:
The shell has been fully media blasted, all major rust cut out and new metal panels welded in and epoxy primed – the majority of this work was done by the previous owner and I have tons of pics detailing the process.
Chassis brace kits welded in the rear wheelhouses as well as the longitudinal braces on the inner door sills. New AA rear trunk pivots welded in as well.
Has fiberglass flares installed and brand new AA flared FG rockers
Underneath, inner wheel wells, cabin, engine compartment and trunks have been painted Tangerine
Later doors installed with crash bars and better window regulators
Clean tail shift trans
Rear trailing arms rebuilt with new bearings, 5 bolt drilled hubs, new drilled for 5 rotors, 66mm long studs, 21mm spacers
Front 911 boge struts with Bilstein inserts with new bearings and rotors
2 sets of rear stuts – KYB with stock springs and Boge with 200# Weltmeisters - new
Steel front bumper and steel valence modified for GT type intake
SBC mounting bar, flywheel, clutch and billet adapter
Fresh .040 283 Chevrolet short block. New pistons, rebuilt rods and forged steel crank. 2 cams – 1 fairly mild hydraulic and one raunchy solid Elgin copy of the 3030 GM cam.
Redone 283 power-pak heads, GM aluminum dual plane intake and Mallory HEI distributor.
Brand new front and rear 914 rubber bumper tops.
Decent seats, dash, gauges etc
Clean set of all black 15x7 Cookie cutters with 205/50/15’s
Most of the rest of the parts to reassemble

The needs attention:
Still some bodywork required before paint – No more rust removal though.
Needs cooling system – No rad or hoses acquired yet
No windshield
1 crappy door panel
Needs full re-assembly

The car is in Abbotsford BC and can be rolled as is (obviously not driven). I have clean BC registration for the car. As you can see, I have accumulated the majority of what is required for a pretty fun very clean V8 outlaw. At this point nothing has been cut on the shell for the V8 conversion so this shell could very easily be put back together with a 4 or 6 if preferred. The only things cut are the front bumper and valence at this point which would still work with a 4/6.

$5500 usd firm for everything. I would prefer to sell altogether but it could also be available as a roller without all the V8 stuff.

A massive head start for your project from without having to deal with any hidden rust.

PM for proper contact info.

1988 Fiero GT Fastback
The 1988 Fiero is the only Fiero to own. It became a world-class mid-engine sports car after engineers from Lotus completely redesigned the front and rear suspension in 1987. I have a red 5-speed/2.8 Liter V6 for sale. This car has 107,000 miles, low profile wheels and tires, handling package and an updated interior. Very good condition; has been stored inside and never seen snow or ice. Value listed at $7500. Asking price $6900 or best offer. Would you consider a trade? David.
VIN: 1G2PG119XJP211040
condition: good
cylinders: 6 cylinders
drive: rwd
fuel: gas
odometer: 107000

Hi, Thanks for the interest but no. A friend has offered me first crack at his 914 before he goes to sell it publicly. I know the car well and it is pretty much exactly what I want. If that was not on the immediate horizon this car would not be for sale

Some more pics from during the shell restoration. Not a true concourse restoration but all issues cut out and new metal welded in for a perfect driver. I will have to double check the bill stack that came with the car but I think there was about $2500 spent on media blasting and sheet metal alone before I got it.

I have both an early and late dash structure for the car. The early one has been media blasted and painted gunmetal.

So, that 3030 is for a Z28 301?

Yes that cam was used in the factory 302 z28’s. Not an ideal cam in a 283 typically, but with decent compression, a lighter flywheel and in a light car like the 914 (that does not want a ton of torque) I think it could actually be a pretty good option.

To answer a few questions I have gotten:

What is missing?
• Front windshield
• Lower dash pad without vents
• Steering wheel
• Carb, exhaust and rad setup
• Outer door handles might be missing – not sure
• Some dash switches might be missing – not sure

What else is included?
• 2 black bullet style mirrors – new
• New dash face vinyl roll
• New front trunk seal
• I have 2 later style individual front seats as well as a fixed passenger seat/back pad set.
• Complete later style dash frame assembly incl gauges
• 2 new 914 rubber bumper tops – not mounted
• Zinc plated open end lug nuts
• 911 and 914 front strut assemblies
• Stock and new Weltmeister 200# rear springs
• Boge and KYB rear struts
• 2 sets of sbc heads – 416 castings and fully rebuilt and milled powerpaks
• 2 cams
• Factory jack
• “Porsche” molded non-flared abs rocker panels
• Extra door and front hood

How much body work still to do:
• The passenger rear quarter panel area needs to be lightly skimmed where it was welded on
• Very minor dings here and there
• The area just behind the front bumper/valence opening is not cut open yet
• The flared FG rockers need to be trimmed to fit – currently uninstalled.
• Door gaps are pretty good as is – maybe slight adjustments?
• Rear trunk and hood gaps good
• Bumper to body gaps good
• Front valence could be edited at the edges to meet up with the flares better?

How difficult will it be to bring the 914 Car/Parts to the United States side? David.

Do you mean bringing it on a trailer across to WA state to then reload on another trailer - or are you talking more about the paperwork situation to get it across or both?

Paperwork wise not much of an issue to legally import the car into the US - I have the BC registration.

If someone wanted it towed across the border it would be best to drive up with a trailer and drive back across with it - reloading off one trailer onto another seems like a lot of work and I do not have a trailer to use to bring it across. The car is located about 10 minutes north of the Sumas WA (98295) border crossing in Abbotsford BC.

Much better than the Blaine crossing. Everything is. Nice drive off of the freeway. Get your personal documentation in order before you head north. I like your car. A lot!
