I've been struggling with 1st gear getting "locked" out for some time now. I only recently figured out that other gears are doing it too... I also have gone through a Terry Cable and started to stretch out a stock cable (Cofle) Finally, my Stage 1 KEP just seemed "too heavy" at the bottom. Then I found something...
If I don't push the clutch pedal all the way down, sort of stop where it gets harder, first gear reappears. And all the gears feel better, smoother. I recently replaced the flywheel with a brand new one (lightened and balanced by FAT/RIMCO), but left the extra washer I had under the pivot ball for the shift release fork. I'm wondering if this may be part of my problem. For now, I've cranked the clutch stop all the way forward... Does anyone know if the extra washer could be to blame here? |
