As those that helped me may remember I had a side shifter gearbox in the 1973 1.7 L FI car that shifted well but had what was determined to have a howl from the bearings.
That gearbox has been removed and is now sitting waiting for me to figure out what to do with it. I don’t need to rebuild it because all of the cars at this point have working/healthy gearboxes, so I’m wondering how to maximize what, if any, value it may have. Should I take it apart and see what condition the gears etc. are in and sell it for individual parts as would help another 914 owner? Thanks |

If you are going to stay in 914’s, put it aside in a corner. They will be more expensive and harder to find in coming years. Especially if yours isn’t far gone.
