So upon advisement from other forum members I purchased some MSDS headers from Marty in Glendale Calif.

I went to visit Marty and we BS’ed for a long time talking about cars, life, politics, and what ever else came to our mind.

Marty is a great guy and builds an excellent product.

I elected to buy the headers with the ceramic coating on them. Installation was easy.

I built my own muffler/exhaust system and love the sound/tone.

BTW, Marty gives discounts to 914 world folks.

I have MSDS coated headers on my /6.
A quality piece of kit, no BS fitting them up. I like that the mandrel bent primary tubes have no welds.

Marty,
Glad to see you are building the 914/4 headers again! I inquired about 5 years back and
I believe you were not building them then.
Looking forward to trying a set!

Been meaning to replace the "temporary" headers on my six conversion for some time now, and MSDS has been top of the list. The only thing that's caused me pause is no heat...and "other priorities."

Always nice to see threads like this.

Can't go wrong with heated seats, and if more creature comfort needed; a decent B-17 Flying Fortress bombers jacket (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif)

You’ll get a nice boost from the MSDS; especially since you have the 96mm P/C and 1-2-3 dizzy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I used a 2.5 inch turbo muffler and had my local shop install.

Muffler should flow plenty for up to 200HP. Sounds incredible. Does not sound too loud and definitely does not sound too “volkswageneeish”.

I live fairly close to Mission Viejo if you want to hear.

This is the muffler I used. $28 from autozone. Turbo Muffler made by Magnaflow.

2” inch. Center in, offset off.

Sorry I mentioned 2.5 inch before. It was 2”

Rumble . Part number R27702

Helpful thread, I was thinking of going there for a 2.0l set up.

@mb911 - are you making those or just have that laying around?
