Someone (of means) paid $912,500 for a 911 that could have snagged for about 6-7% of the hammer price 20 years ago. It was part of Bruce Jennings estate.
Around the same time I bought his '67 911-S PTS, Cadillac Autumn Rust Poly with green interior. It was an acquired taste. The car had a slick close ratio 901 LSD transmission. 1st/2nd/3rd gear shifts happened quickly with the short stack box and deep breathing carbs. Great memories. All it ever had were "rain hats" and the noise was glorious. |
