Subject: CALL FOR 914 CARS FOR ALL PORSCHE GRAND DISPLAY AT CARILLON POINT KIRKLAND WA SEPTEMBER 8, 2019

Hi Rich,
I am sending the following out in two separate emails to all our members who registered and/or joined the club & indicated they have a 914, as we have a significant group.

We are CELEBRATING THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 914 this year at the All Porsche Grand Display (APGD). The 914 is a significant car in the history of Porsche AG and we want to feature and celebrate the model.

Please reply to me if you are able to bring your car for that day. Details are on our website at pnwr.org where you can register and also enter details about your car and see details of the day. It is $15 for car and driver and $10 for additional passengers/spectators. We will place all the 914's together and have special awards just for this group. Jazz music all day, coffee and pastries to start and water and soft drinks all day.

Let’s show the loyalty and specialness of these cars to our members and attendees by having a big group represented. (YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A PNWR MEMBER TO ATTEND THIS AND SHOW YOUR CAR)

I know that Billie (@PanelBilly ) has organized a couple days of special 914 celebration (914Turnout) the following weekend (9/14) but am hoping many of you can make it out for this as well.

We look forward to hearing back from you and seeing you there with your car.

Thank you. All the best,

Dennis Rood
Concours Chairman
Pacific NW Region
PCA

PS: If you have sold the car and can email back the contact information AND if you know others with 914s please forward this email and encourage them to bring the car.

Rich,
Thank you for talking with me on the phone the other day. We are really looking forward to having you bring your 914 ‘Creamsicle' car. Also, any/all other 914's are welcome from your friends, customers & associates. We would like to get a big group of them.

I am cc'ing Jay Gillotti, who works with me on the All Porsche Grand Display and will be interviewing Allan Caldwell, our national Porsche Club of America and our local Pacific Northwest Region technical chairman. He has a beautiful yellow 914 and has told me he believes it is one of the best cars that Porsche ever made.

At the beginning of the lunch break, when the jazz band takes a break, Jay is going to interview Allan on the history, etc of the 914 and we would also like to have you join him up by the podium and band stand for Jay to interview as well, if that is OK?
It will be a question and answer format so you don’t need to prepare anything.

I am going to let Jay further contact you for any other information on the interviews that day.

Thank you very much for bringing your car(s) and see you on the 8th!

I see that you have already registered, so thanks for that.

All the best,
Dennis

Rich,
Good to talk to you a minute ago.

Here is (one of) my call for cars emails I have now sent out to some 57 914 owners/members of pnwr and also to about 3 years worth of people who have shown their cars at the annual APGD at Carillon Point.

Please forward this to any of your customers, friends and owners of 914's. We would like to see if we can get as many as possible 914s to celebrate the 50th anniversary.

Hope to see your registration and bringing the Creamsicle 914.

All the best,
Dennis

Hi everyone,
Everyone on this email showed their car in 2016 at the All Porsche Grand Display at Carillon Point. This year we are doing registration just like previous years. Go to pnwr.org and register. If you are a member please start an account. If you are not a member you can still register at this web site. It will allow you to pay for car and driver ($15) and additional participants($10). If will also give me a spread sheet of the model, year, color of each entrant so I can order awards and assign arrival and placement times. Remember please that you will need to leave your car in the display until after awards at 2:30 PM.

This is the 50th year anniversary of the 914 model and we would like as many as possible to participate. We would especially like 914-6s, racing liveried cars, and we are still looking for a “Bumble Bee” if we can find one and any other special 914 models and colors.
We are also celebrating the 30th anniversary of the 964 model. We would like any early 1989 4wd, Turbos, RS Americas, racing liveried cars and any other special models and colors.

We will have the BIG BANNER across the main Lake Washington Blvd at the Home Port 2 weeks before our event and on the Carillon Point light poles.

The class this year will be given again by Nathan Merz of Columbia Valley Luxury Cars. Nathan gives his walking class on current values and market conditions on cars as he did last year. It was quite popular. Jay Gillotti will also be have a Q & A with our longest serving Porsche Club member, Allan Caldwell, regarding history and technical details of the 914. Allan owns a wonderful yellow example of a great 914.

We will have the Seattle Teen Music jazz band and music all day, pastries and coffee for club members in the morning and water and soft drinks all day also. As usual awards will be given in each of several categories using the “European or French/Light” style of judging. Exterior only, presentation and panache (POP). The Carillon Kitchen restaurant will be open all day in the same space that Popinjays occupied for 20 years. There are also restaurants in the adjacent Woodmark Hotel and Starbucks. Ivar’s fish bar may be open by then and is about 3 blocks away.

Remember all profits go to the Evergreen Hospital Uncompensated Care Foundation. It will be a great day and we will have a lot of fun.

Please sign into pnwr.org, go to either EVENTS or In the Garage and click on the All Porsche Grand Display and register for the September 8, 2019 event.

We look forward to seeing you there.
Let me know if you have any questions.
All the best,

Dennis Rood
Concours Chairman

PS I have also sent this email out to those showing their cars in previous years so there are undoubtedly many duplicates. Please forgive that in the interest in my getting the Call for Cars out as quickly and efficiently as possible. Thanks so much for participating and we hope we see you again at the 2019 APGD.

Rich,
As an aside I don’t know if any of your friends would be interested in driving their 914's to beautiful Whistler weekend of 8/23-25 but if so go to pnwr.org, events, scroll to 8/23 for 1. My tour of 50 cars up and 2. Separately the events, dinners and contests for the weekend. I am holding a Concours Lite event on Saturday AM and would love to have a 914 or two there. We don’t get many out. This is the 26th joint Canada West/US-Seattle cross border meeting.

All the best,
Dennis

Where is everyone staying at?
Called the woodmark they said there is not a block or rooms booked out special for this.
Emailed Dennis Rood, he said probably either La Quinta or Courtyard by Mariott.
Not familiar with area; just wondering where others are staying.

Very good looking Creamsicle! Uh-oh. Now I'm afraid to show up. No current photo of the Bee to post.
