I have a set that are very sun faded, but otherwise in great shape.

Has anyone ever re-dyed them? If so, what dye did you choose?

I didn't know about that product. Sadly, they don't make the color I want.

After some research, I learned cocomats are made of something called coir, which is the product of coconut husks. It can be dyed with fiber reactive dye... so that might be an interesting experiment.

Gonna get some Procion MX dye. It's a cold water dye, since I don't have a vat big enough to do soak an entire floor mat.

I'll take pics. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I used the carpet dye from Detail King, water based. worked great on my 924S carpets. Cal and inquire about coir.

This should work for a vat.

So I dyed them with a mixture of Procion MX dyes. They are strong and will stain everything in sight. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I put the mats in garbage bags and waited 24 hours. Then rinse, rinse, rinse... and dry.

Here's the driver's side mat. Half with dye sprayed, half not.

Here it is wet after a rinse or two.

Here it is today after multiple rinsings... with it's buddy. In person, these look very dark. The lighting in this pic makes them look faded. The aubergine color has really popped. though.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.
