You may need to be more specific as to what you are looking for. Both those cars posted already look to be fairly decent drivers, I mean these cars are 50 years old.

It sounds like you may be looking for something thats been fully restored or a unicorn original car.

You may want to post your price range too. People are generally holding on to the nicer cars either because they sunk a bunch of time/money into them or they are "unicorns" but knowing the right buyer is out there with the money might convince someone that otherwise wasn't thinking of selling.

I’m a bit leery of spending time finding a car for someone on vacation who can’t take the time to look for themselves, but that’s just me.

If you find that "perfect" one do you get a finders fee since you saved the person countless hours of looking and searching? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

bernbomb914's car. Not stock. I thought it was value priced. I couldn't find the ad. Feeble search skills. I think he's in the socal area. No idea if it ever sold. Does MOT require the stock FI?

Hi there,

I want to be a bit more clear...
I am indeed on vacation and I am indeed returning to
Europe soon. I am not asking to find a car for me on
the open market... I was just asking if there would be
a forum member knowing a car for sale (or has one
himself).
I bought a 911 and 914 fm burton73 last year and that
was a slow process because we both wanted to do it
right. I’ve met Bob an hour ago and will meet up with
him and his wife tomorrow. We also have been discussing
the silver car located in Granada hills. He sees potential,
I prefer a car with less work.

I prefer a 2.0 car, chrome bumpers if possible, in one of
the bright colors (no black, no silver, gold). Condition
over originality... I don’t have (unfortunatly) the skills to
weld, paint or rebuild engine...
Budget around 20/25k, lower if possible (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It is not because I am here now that I need to buy one.
I have plenty time and will follow this platform fm home
as well

Thks guys
Dax

When you said bright colors, this one came to mind. I saw this one a few weeks ago at a C&C in San Clemente.

Have a couple other photos, if needed. Don't know anything else about the car. Spoke with the owner for a few minutes, but he wasn't overly friendly. Asked him if he was aware of 914world to try to sell and he said he did not know anything about it. Good Luck.

I'm a bit of an oddball, but if I were building one from scratch, this one certainly checks all my boxes. 2.0....In your price range....don't know if you're willing to drive an extra 4 hours???? No affiliation...just drueling over this one.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) Sounds like he may have been a flipper or he was having a bad day, ... but how could you have a bad day... sunny day, take off the top, and drive a PORSCHE!

What??? I'm a really nice guy!! Collector of vintages Porsche's and VW's. This example of a 2.0 914 is one of the best out there.
Cheers,
Robert

Broomstick get's rid of the fiddley torsion springs issue (that Im considering doing the same thing - prob lightens car a bit & unstresses the hinge issue, kind of an outlaw thing I guess.) Nice F'n car however.

I saw this one too! Looks like some nice work put into it. I like it too! Wonder why it's taking so long to sell.
