The *official* Vegas to Red Rocks caravan is a long standing tradition. Please come join us on Thurs. 9/19. This year the meeting location will be in Mesquite Nevada. 12 o'clock, high noon, at the main valet front entrance of whichever Casino Kent decides to stay at.

This is really more of a pilgrimage than a caravan. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)
I think people should book a cheap flight to Vegas, turo a boxster and join us for the fun. :

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Can't speak for the East Coast but this is the most scenic of the West Coast Events. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Ed, We're headed up the 15. Leaving Mesquite ~ noonish. PM me your number and I'l ring you up when we're headed your way. IIRC, you rode with me in my white '76 at the 2011 RRC. You had your daughter with you that year. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

From Zion I'm taking 9 east to 89 then 12 into Torrey. Jen and Matt are heading there from the Bryce area and we may meet up on the way depending on timing.

We'll need to leave earlier if you want to hook up with them John. That is a road worthy of 914's and only adds 1.5 hours to the trip. What are you thinking?

Hwy 12 to Torrey is a fabulous road. In fact, it is the exact road for our group drive on Friday. I was thinking of a different route. I also wanted to avoid the slow traffic in Zion.
My original plan was I-15 to Cedar City. Then over to 89. Take 89 north and drop in to Torrey from the top side on 24.

Well Carl, I'll have you know that I've rescued a 914 before. He was a member here but left abruptly once it became common knowledge. IIRC, his name was Elyut Cannon, or something like that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif)

Plan to get up really early if you want that to happen. Crowds have been getting out of hand in Zion lately and with rockfalls having closed most of the other popular hikes over the last year everyone in the park winds up on the Angles Landing trail. I was there back in April before peak season and it was already pretty bad, and then this happened shutting down Stop 7 completely...

Route 9 through the east entrance is easily one of the best roads in Utah if not the whole US, I always take the long way just to come in on that road whenever I can! Sunset is best!

Jen and I are planning to leave at 6 or 7 am from PHX. Should be at junction with I-15 about 1 or 2pm or so. I think the route through Bryce would be awesome.

HA! it's a Washington car. It was removed a long long time ago.

I did get some of these ball chillers though. Blows the footwell air directly at you instead of on your feet.
