Unscrew the center nut all the way and mark the steering wheel and axis position with a Sharpie.
Put the nut back but leave 1-2 turns of. Pull the wheel and tap on the axis. 2 people will get it out in 5 seconds. Single handed you need to change the holding position while you tap. Really easy.
Use the mark to match alignment when fitting back (same wheel).
If replacing wheel, try to make the mark at an angle that's easy to transfer to the new wheel.
