Should three be a gasket between the black back cover and alternator? If so, is their a source or do most people make there own out of cardboard?
Tried looking at all the usual vendor sites without success. |

Do a search. There was just a thread about this a month or so ago. Get some thick gasket paper and make your own. Also make sure the positive lug has plenty of clearance at that cover plate. It's OK to ding it out a little to make sure you don't burn up your 914.
