And the rear. I need to think about how to best attach these. Here's how I did mine..... They worked out great and are quick & easy to remove if you need to. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...amp;hl=raynekat |

I decided to keep going with the fender liner installation. Here are the mounting clips from 914 Rubber, now in stainless.

Most are designed for pop-rivets (included in the kit). I decided to use screws to attach the liners to the clips, the raynekat method. Two of the clips have riv-nuts attached, but my OCD wants them all the same, so I used a file to undo the rib-nuts. BTW, I treated myself to new files for the first time in at least 30 years--wow!

On the leading edge, the clips fit over the fender flange deep enough for the holes to line up.

On the trailing side, the clip base is not deep enough to reach the hole.

I tried unfolding the clip, but the stainless stock was too brittle.

With the liner seated evenly, the length seems too long, by about 3/4". When I forced the flu length in, the liner does not sit tightly against the inside of the fender.

I fitted the liner again, marked and drilled the holes, and then screwed the liner to the clips.

One problem: when unmolested, the liner sits snug against the outer fender.

But the liner is free to shift about an inch to the inside.

Rather than drill holes in the inner fender wall I decided to make a small block from aluminum stock and 3M adhesive tape.

That should be enough to keep the liner from shifting inward.
