1) Auto for those that can't drive a stick. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

2) Auto allows GM to torque limit. If you think you're going to get the whole 490 HP, 465 lb*ft of torque you're probably wrong. Most high horsepower vehicles are torque limited in 1st gear to preserve the hardware. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Mid-engine Vette will be interesting though. Can't wait to drive one!

Careful - this isn't just an "Auto" The DCT/DSG transmissions are soooo much faster at shifting than a traditional auto or manual. There are plenty of torque monsters out there on these.

You should check out some of the insane things Iroz motorsports in Vegas are doing with their audi DSG platforms. Flat foot shifts - sub 9 second AWD RS3s.

Im counting the days till we see the whole drivetrain in the junkyard for less than 10k with the engine attached..

Till then Im working hard to putting a whole car in the garage in the next two years...

As far as torque limit... Its extremely easy now to reduce engine power with drive by wire and electronic timing control...

Just wait a few years and you will be happy if you can get a stream going, standing or sitting.
