I just picked some up from my FLAPS last week. Original bulbs are 1.2w but I had a choice at the FLAPS of 1.1, 1.3, and 1.4 I went with 1.1 (Sylvania 73) and they are plenty bright. I am going to swap them for LED though. That reminds me, @Mikey914 was going to see if he had the LED in stock via this thread: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=310990
Any luck Mark? |

really? I was going to buy 2, seems like the heater light indicator is not lighting and the fan wire and socket is not even plugged in with no bulb. Are these supposed to be hard to find or easy to find?

I believe I would need 6 to replace all the bulbs in my car: 3 for the air controls and 1 each for hazard, rear defrost, and heater lever. Those bulbs are a giant B to get out of the switch knobs so I haven't 100% confirmed they are the same bulb, but I'm 99% sure (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Also, what @rjames posted is the actual correct bulb (2721) and led versions are commonly available and can be found via Google. I just substituted the closest match available at my FLAPS. |

I would just take one of your bulbs to a FLAPS. There is nothing special about them. It is a very common bulb. Here are the O'Reilly and Autozone listings:
https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/long-l...721llbp/4743174 https://www.autozone.com/electrical-and-lig...-pack/16865_0_0 And for LED, there are 3 options on superbrightleds.com ranging from 88 cents to $1.95 per bulb. https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/led-veh...,2721,197,8970: Not Hella, but even I don't care about that. Ok bbrock.........I just called those places and they said they did not have them, did not go there with the bulbs like I guess I should have done. About half the time I call a FLAPS they either tell me the don't have something that they do, or say they have something that they don't. Each time, it's a one hour round trip wasted for me. Usually as soon as they hear the word "Porsche," they immediately assume it isn't something they will have. The other problem is that their parts database isn't very good for our old cars and the employees don't seem to be able to find anything without searching the make, model, and year. Makes it a real pain to get a straight answer for a common part that is hanging in a card in plain site on Aisle 3 Latest example was our old VW ceramic fuses. Said on the phone they didn't have them, but they did. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I have a lot better luck looking up the part online and plugging in my local store to see if it is in stock. Rarely has the online inventory database failed me. More reliable than the friendly folks on the phone anyway (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

Depends on the year but late has 4 in there. The fan light doesn’t come on...until the slider for the fan is moved to one of the three fan positions. Also, I think for the fan light to work the bolt that holds it to the firewall needs to be in place to act as a ground. If I remember correctly... |
