Ok, now that I got the fan back(nice job Ben!). when I took the fan out I spun the alt to loosen the screws so didn't really see how everything fit in there. can't really find anything online, so what is the proper orientation of the alt and the air diverter? TIA

I had all this apart to get my altenater rebuilt before fitting my motor to the car, make sure you clean or replace the earth strap and fit nylock nuts and washers to the air diverter to prevent damage to this rather fragile fiberglass piece.
Also make sure you torque the fan housing outer strap to factory spec,if too tight you risk the blades hitting the housing or worse cracking it,another rather fragile and expensive part. Make sure your drive pulley is shimmed properly or the belt will wear quickly and flog out the pulley outer...ask me how I know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) . Good luck and be careful with that fan. |
