> How about a Week of WCR2020?, 50 Years of the Porsche 914 in America
A Week Long WCR driving event! A Treffin Perhaps...
Who would drive their 914 for a week up and down the US West Coast in 2020?
Heck Yeah, I'd do it! Let me know When and Where! [ 21 ] ** [43.75%]
I might do the first weekend or jump in when the group is close to me. [ 21 ] ** [43.75%]
I'll just wait for the second weekend, like a normal WCR. [ 4 ] ** [8.33%]
No WCR for me, I'm the PCA Porsche Parade Type. [ 2 ] ** [4.17%]
Are you already planning to attend the Porsche Parade in Palm Springs?
Yes. [ 8 ] ** [16.67%]
No. [ 30 ] ** [62.50%]
I'd do both if I could. [ 10 ] ** [20.83%]

I don't want to give away too much at this point, but we've been talking about a Big WCR Celebrating 50 Years of the 914 in America. An event that would be a week long, with a drive to a new location each day for the first half of the week and a standard WCR weekend event in a final location. As plans are coming along we are just curious as to how many people would actually be interested in such an event.

This summer the PCA Porsche Parade is also the last week on June in Palm Springs. Personally, a 914 in 104-108 degree weather is not my idea of fun. But hey, who am I to judge (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) I know with the new found love of 914s in the Wine and Cheese crowd we may lose a few to this event but I've never been a Parade guy and know most you aren't either.
Anyway.....
Thanks

Great idea Mike ... There is a 914 W$C contingent ya’ know... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

For those that dont know, Joe Sharpe displayed the boxed wine and cheese at a concours event in his 914-6. He said there are people who refused to speak to him for doing that. He made the cheese box into a fuse box cover for his race car. Told me proudly that he later found an even cheaper boxed wine.

Wine and cheese is a migraine and indigestion for me.

Actually that might explain why so many people seem to leave early at those events (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

I would have to check the first three boxes since there are no dates. I'll be in for as much of it as I can be!

Since it's a long drive for me, dates are crucial, but anytime around the Porsche Parade and I'll have to pass.

Had a discussion at length Mike at length this evening. He's trying to please as many folks as possible, but will be posting a poll for the date he's looking at shortly.

Basically the idea on this poll was to see if we could extend the event to make it more of a journey, rather than just a destination.
