I couldn't find a 50th anniversary t-shirt I really liked. So I created one. They are available now. If you are interested they are here.

UPDATE 2/28/20:

Shirts have been printed and began mailing out this week. We still have a few if anybody else wants one. RedlineNine.com

That’s what I thought too. But after talking with a few people and doing some math, it seems that we don’t turn 1 until the end of our 1st year. So apparently it is 2020, which is what I’ve been seeing people use on other products.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) What's wrong with celebrating a 50th anniversary for two years? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)

I understand what you’re saying. I had this debate with a few people for months. But they convinced me. I think the first car hit the showroom floor in late ‘69. Born MY70, turns 50 in 2020. Besides, what’s good for Oscar is good for me. Just depends on when you start counting, and where you count to. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Yes but the Porsche factory says 2019 is 50 years.

Introduction of 914 was 1969 and that is when Porsche and apparently Europe mark the beginning. So, 50 years would be 2019.

In the US, however, we are celebrating the MODEL YEAR 1970 so 2020 is correct (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
