I got a couple things done tonight, and its all based on trying to get to the point i can make fender liners. This time it was removing the pinch weld in the wheel well by the door hinge and cutting holes in the hood for tire clearance under load. I didn’t want to cut these holes for visual reasons but maybe ill style them up!

Added some caps to cover the tires. I couldn’t make lmp1 style tire cutouts to look right so i spent the time and made some out of fiberglass. At the same time i also cut holes in the bumper for the splitter support cables. Idk why but it seems stiffer now and im plenty pleased with the current sate of the splitter. Attached Image

Todays mayhem was instead makeimg fender liners and that was a much bigger undertaking. The wheel well was completely covered in masking tape then glassed over. I went through an entire gallon of polyester resin and a good portion ended up on me but it does look cool for two layers.

Looking good! Maybe venting the tire covers at the rear would relieve any undue pressure?

I will more than likely vent them further out. It just doesn’t look right on the little covers i made

The rear fenders are about a half inch too narrow so i did the extra long step and stuffed a bunch of spacer behind the wheel opening and made a set of slightly extra wide rear fender molds. I also extended the bottom a few inches so it actually goes all the way to the floor as this chassis is about 2” taller than stock to fit the suspension under the hoods

Curious why you did the fender/hood cutout for front tire clearance. Do you expect the tires to move that high while driving? Seemed high but hard to tell from the video.

Cheers, and enjoy watching the progress.

They definitely could. There was only about an inch or maybe a little more to the top of the tire, so i didn’t want to find out after paint.

Finally laid up my fenders and they get a 6-7/10 from me. A couple spots where the outer layer pulled from the chop mat behind but its not a big issue. I cut out the outer layer and threw some fiberglass filler in it and it will be good as new. I had to build my own to meet the floor and be about an inch wider.

Man I thought I did a lot of work on my wide body kit but you have taken yours to another level! Great thing about fiberglass/composite is how easily it can be modified, at least once you get the hang of it.

Very true just glad the fiberglass is almost over!
