Hi Guys,

Reassembling my engine and I ran into a situation I am unsure about. The PO used helicoils to repair the 4 M8 holes for the motor mount brackets on the engine case. Those helicoils are now shot and need to come out. I removed 2 of them and retapped the holes for M8 Time-Sert repair inserts.

Unfortunately, the holes seem to be too big to allow the Time-Serts to properly engage.

I am now thinking of drilling the hole out to 9mm and tapping it for M10x 1.25.

Any thoughts on whether this is an OK repair or if would leave the walls of the bosses too thin?

TIA!
