So, 47 years ago, last night...
My future wife and I drove to Lawrence Ma. and parked across the street from
Park Hagerty Porsche.. I drove there to see if the 914-6 I had decided not to buy a month earlier was finally gone and now I could forget about it.
First glance and the parking spot the car was always sitting was empty...
I took a deep breath and said to myself.... It is gone and chapter closed.
It was around 7pm.. As I started my car to leave, I heard a familiar sound...
And it came down the street and pulled into it's usual parking space.
2 men got out.... The salesman out of the passengers side and some guy out the drivers....
They reached over the roof and shook hands..
DAMN, the car was getting sold right in front of me.....
Then i looked in the showroom and saw the owner of the Dealership walking through...

I jumped out of my car and ran across the street and into the showroom..
I walked up to the Owner of the Dealership and said...
Get that guy out of my car... Owner knew my dad and he said.... Are you sure you want to do this.... YES, I'll be back with my dad tomorrow to sign the paperwork,
Now get that guy away from my car...
The owner went out to the car where the salesman and customer were still talking and put a SOLD Sticker on the car..
The other buyer was VERY pissed off... and the owner said.. I'm sorry, I had already sold this car earlier and didn't get a chance to mark it sold.

Then i had to go home and explain to my dad that he had to go to the dealership
the next day and sign the paperwork for his 18 year old son to buy a car....

Guess it was meant to be,,,????

Pretty sure I was making under 3.00 an hour at the time....

Yes, on both..... Still have the car and still have the wife...
I got the car when I was 18 and met the future wife when I was 7
and she was 5...
She was 16 when I bailed out of the car and she asked where I was going...
I said “I’ll be right back” and she watched the deal happen...

LOVE these personal victories and stories. Stuff that PANO never publishes. And yet another original owner; my count is (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) up to 6 or 7 of them.

No, not original owner...
Car was traded back to Dealer because the
Original Owner was a big guy and didn’t fit well
in the 914...
He traded it for a 911..
He owned this car from late 1970 to mid 1972.
Then I found it at the Dealership when my parents
didn’t want me to buy a motorcycle and said.
“Buy a nice Car” instead..
