Thought I would run this out there again. All models regardless of year has a clip mounting for the VW Type 3 fuel filter. Bosch and Kayser were the primary manufacturers. I have a aftermarket filter for comparison to a Kayser filter. Both German filters have a larger center rib and a flat platform that slots into the clip to hold it in place.. There is NOTHING to mount the aftermarket on the slot. Just falls over, would have to be zip tied.
