I'm hooking up my new brake lines today and I notice on one of the struts that you can see fresh steel. You can clearly see a paint line and then see where the spindle has moved, its angled up. On further inspection the tire is very close to the strut housing up top. On the other side the tire has more clearance almost an inch more. This spindles were bought used and they have never been used by me, so I dont know what may have happened.

Is this going to be a problem and how can I fix it.

The picture below shows the line of paint and the gray is the fresh steel part.
