So I've run into a bit of a problem with my carpet install. I need to remove the parking brake handle to put the new carpet down, and the parking brake won't come off the brake pivot. I've reapplied penetrating oil every 12 hours for 2 days. Even with a pickle fork/moving the handle up and down, it simply won't come off. I think that heating it with a torch might help, as I can melt the bushing off and remove it.
If this is the right course of action, where can I find a replacement bushing? None of my ususal suspects (914 Rubber, Auto Atlanta, Pelican Parts) have them for sale. |

Should be available through dealers. I bought one from Sunset Porsche a little over a year ago.
