Pretty nice 3.6 conversion with a very sporty drive video that has lots of people gaga.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-porsche-914-6-9/

I find it interesting how some cars (usually very well presented) catch everyones imagination on that site and generate interest and often big $. This is one of them.

In spite of the current societal woes, BAT still seems very much a sellers marketplace. Good luck to seller.

It's local to me and is pretty nice up close as well.
I've seen it twice at Avant Garde's shop with some Porsche outings.
They (multiple folks) have put a lot of money into this car.
Will be interesting to see what a 914-6 conversion sells for.
Will set a fairly high bar I'll bet.
Already at $70k with a week to go.

Very nice!

... save for the side-skirts and rear valence, what’s up with that?

What ?? that reply makes no sense to me, you mentioned a while back you don't like 6 cyl conversions so we know you are a hater, ever driven one?,your reply about golfing or drinking @ a bar has lost me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) .

Im Saying the car is borderline way too nice to be actually used or driven.....how is that beimg a hater
Not a 6 hater just think converions are a waste of money and are overweight .

But not into wine an cheese either (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smoke.gif)

And yes i take my car to the driving range , to a pub, home depo , to the park to play basketball or volleyball.. etc and i finally found a girl who likes the car
( so where ever she wants to go in it too) !

.
I treat my car like Chuck yeager treats his planes.
Or pat riley treats his ball clubs
( i wanna push things to the ragged edge)
Not the hanger queen type

And why has no one mentioned that a 914 w\3.6
Is a handful. Not for your inexperienced 914 operators.
Something tells me they left off the traction control
And a 3.6 without power brakes booster ?
Be careful over 100mph

We all know this thing belongs on a trailer headed to
Willow springs . not pretending to be a street car .lol

That is one nice 6 conversion and it will probably set a new bar for pricing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I've got a buddy who has some very nice classic homes near him that he uses for back drops. Public street, camera angles. Good to go! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

It is screaming out for flailed rockers and rear valence. All that goodness and $ but missed Ben’s flared rockers?!?

Makes no sense.

Looks like some really nice work went into that car. Rockers are an odd omission, but I actually prefer no rear valance with GT flares—not sure why that is, because I prefer a rear valance on a narrow car. To each their own.

3.6s and 3.8s are a tricky thing in a 914. I've driven several high-dollar builds that were fast but kind of a mess and not all that fun to drive—and just two that were fast and felt like Porsche put the 3.6 in the car. One was Paul's, the other was a blue one. Those cars indicated the 3.6 or 3.8 in a 914 cross a line into "less about the ingredients, and more about how they're baked in." If I want to go fast in a straight line, there are other cars I would choose over a 914—but a 914 armed with a 3.6 or 3.8 will definitely catch modern 911 drivers out. 993 power with 1000~ less pounds will do that for you. So I get the appeal: the biggest air-cooled flat six mounted in the lightest, best-balanced Porsche road car designed to accept it. Hot-rodding at its core.

But the biggest grins I've ever had in a 914 came in a 914-6 with a 2.2S MFI and short gears. Probably had 190-200~ hp. Pretty sure the cows could hear me laughing as I streaked by, and the noises had me thinking you could plant the most ardent Prius driver in the passenger seat and they'd be a convert in minutes.
