thinking about some 15x5.5" wheels with an ET26 offset.. I know it'll kick the wheel out a bit over the stock ET40, but is it enough to be un-doable w/o spacers (which I'd like to avoid if possible)? I don't mind rolling the rear lip if necessary but I'm concerned about the fronts mostly.
Stick to a certain tire size? I think some of the fuchs and cookie cutters that people use are ET23, right? |

40-26=14mm -- so about 1/2" closer to the fender lip. You will be stuck with skinny tires.
et23 is on 7" wide wheels. So wider 1/2" outer and 1" inner. |

Don't go that route. Use ET36 off set regardless of wheel type. Use a 6" wheel.

Are we thinking the ET26 will have the fronts rubbing the outer lip or inner wall? ..because I thought there was an excess of outer wheel well in the front (when using stock wheels) ?

In the Front: Is there room for a 1/2" wider lip on a stock sized wheel?

16 x 6 is a good choice all the way around.

16 x 6 is a good choice all the way around. I appreciate that, but I've found a set of wheels that I reeaally like and that are dirt cheap. I figure I can roll both front and rear lips if need be.. but I was wondering if that would be enough - or even necessary with ET26 on a 15x5.5 wheel. I was also hoping for at least 195x65r15 tires. A 185/70 may be better tho (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) . |
