So this bolt is the right thread and length for the shifter to coupling bolt. Is that what its for? Why the cut in the head?

Thanks

Hey Peter,

I don't recall ever seeing a OEM slotted bolt anywhere on a 914. Could be something a previous owner fitted.

I've parted out half a dozen 914 and I agree never seen one of those.

I've seen that bolt, but not sure where.

Headlight adjuster bolt maybe?

I have seen them. Maybe the air cleaner to throttle body boot clamp on a 2.0 or the clamp for the fan in the engine bay.

Nope. That one has a slot on the other end.

If I'm correct, the Tin screw mount in front of the alternator has a hex and slot. The one that screws to the fan shroud. not sure its that size .

Thanks All,
Sounds like a hard no on the shifter. I'll hold onto it for later.

Thanks again!

This thread was started three days ago.
Today I noticed this cup that has been on my work bench for at least a month.
Ain't that the way it goes ?
