So this bolt is the right thread and length for the shifter to coupling bolt. Is that what its for? Why the cut in the head?

Hey Peter,
I don't recall ever seeing a OEM slotted bolt anywhere on a 914. Could be something a previous owner fitted. |

Hey Peter, I don't recall ever seeing a OEM slotted bolt anywhere on a 914. Could be something a previous owner fitted. I've parted out half a dozen 914 and I agree never seen one of those. (Someone will be along shortly to prove me wrong. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ) |

I've seen that bolt, but not sure where.
Headlight adjuster bolt maybe? |

I have seen them. Maybe the air cleaner to throttle body boot clamp on a 2.0 or the clamp for the fan in the engine bay. |

If I'm correct, the Tin screw mount in front of the alternator has a hex and slot. The one that screws to the fan shroud. not sure its that size .

Wrong size but same type used ( brass !) on 6 positive battery terminal.
