I have a '73 car that had the D-jet replaced with carb. I drove it the week I got it back and it killed on the freeway and wouldn't start. I had it towed to the guy that rebuild the fuel system and he said "looks like you threw a rod". I parked it and that was about 5 years ago. it is red (originally robins egg blue). I just lost the storage and am interested in getting it to a 914 guy most likely at no charge. I am in Wisconsin (Milwaukee area). Is anyone interested?
thanks (I have a 1971 1.7L that I am finishing up for myself.)

Giving this a bump.

I’ve been working with the owner to get it down here to California so I could save it and then recycle it back to the community but shipping proved to be pretty expensive, about 40% more than it was before Covid happened.

I got the shipping figured out but I found out over the weekend at the warehouse where I keep my projects in waiting is being sold, so I’m not in a position to take this on any longer.

The car is definitely a project, has some body issues that need attention but appears worth saving. The seller is a super nice guy and I wanted to let people know that this was available in the hopes that someone can take care of it for him.

I was going to send along 1000 bucks as a token thank you to the seller, then my business what you all work out but it seemed fair to me to at least give him some thing in return for the car. He didn’t ask but just didn’t feel right taking it without giving him some money for it.

Hi,
While not a first choice for your situation if necessary I could pick the car up and bring it to Minnesota. If you get a better offer please take it. Obviously there would need to be some direct disussion between us. PM me if you get to the point I could be helpful.
