I was fortunate to see them in person at Nuremberg Ring in 1970 and 1971. Really badass on the straight away in front of the grandstand.

Here you go then, this is the race I was at. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) BTW I was 11 years old when my brother took me specifically to see Donahue and the 917 race. I remember touring the paddock and on the track and in the pits after the race. I don't remember if I touched the holy grail but I was close enough to all the cars. I do remember the 917 taking this sharp turn with a little knoll, it was a freaking ground missile that magically stuck to track. The other memory of the day is I had to pee and the dirty track washrooms, basically piss on the floor, it just reeked of urine.
