okay for those people who will be going to kerrys cook out i live in baltimore city right off 95, we can/should set up a caravan. it can be started several places, i would recommend th baltimore travel plaza, or we could do the maryland house.
the travel plaza has gas bathrooms several types of food and pleny of parking. as well as it is right north of the 95 tunnel. the gas is slightly cheaper than the normal highway pull offs. i might even be able to get us on the scales at the truck stop to see what we weigh. the maryland house offers the same basic things including only being about 45 mins from kerrys house vrs 1.5 to 2 hrs form kerrys house so what do you all think |

It's a possibility... but I'm trying to figure out whether the 70/695/95 route makes sense when we will be starting about 25 miles or so from US 30 (pick it up in Gettysburg).
Babydoll's owner isn't crazy about taking Babydoll out on the big roads with the big trucks. I'm going to have to talk to her and see what she thinks before making a final decision. She's on vacation so it will probably be a week or so before I hear anything at all. |

Scott Thatcher - I'm in IF we have that weekend free. 9/17 right? I'm checking with THE BOSS.
Scottb - for you and I in the Frederick area MHO would be to head to Baltimore and then north up 95. Hagerstown is a guess at which way is best. I'll caveate MHO with I need to check exactly where Kerry is in the Philly area. MHO = my humble opinion (in case I created a new acronym) and yes I know the adage about "opinions" .. they're like .... |

Still waiting for Ms. Babydoll to come back from vacation so we can decide which route to take, but we will be starting from a small town between Hagerstown and Gettysburg.
It would be kewl to join a caravan, though... I led my Corvette club on a scenic cruise earlier this year and the only problem I had was outrunning everyone else in the group all the time. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) What time would y'all be hitting the road? It takes about 75 minutes or so to reach the 695 via I-70. BTW, I've heard that in caravans, the fastest car should be the last one, because of the nature of the "caterpillar effect." I know for a fact that Babydoll914 won't be the fastest car by a long shot. One more thing... does anyone else have radios? I have a pair of FRS/GMRS radios as well as a cell phone. |
