Does anyone have a template as to the location of the holes and placement of the lower sail chrome moldings and any tricks to do the install? As with many 914’s the sail has been painted the same as the rest of the car with no evidence of the molding holes?

I faced a similar dilemma after the P.O welded the holes up. I ended up using double sided tape which has actually worked very well and allows me to remove the sails for the "clean" look if I ever go that route again. If you want to find the original holes try looking up in the wheel well first to mark the holes from the back if possible.
