What I don't Understand is that I have always been told from the Purist is that the Chalon's kits on a 914 are and you have a piece of shit because it NOT an original stock car .. Mine looks the Same as this one just a different color and 2.0 eng And I'm being told it's a piece of shit .. BUT Now someone has put a Chalon kit on a six and these guys are all getting moist and talking a different tune .. How is that ??? Don't see the Numbers of what it is going down the street .. Nor do you know what engine is in it .. All I see is all the 914 Chalon kit cars all look the same no Matter What the VIN # is .. So I'm a little Confused ..

All I see is all the 914 Chalon kit cars all look the same no Matter What the VIN # is .. So I'm a little Confused .. @beakster Porsche 914/4 -- maybe worth $40-50K on high end for a nice conversion with a six. Very original Porsche 914/4 with something like 5,000 original DOCUMENTED miles in stellar condition went for $90K at auction recently but every mile it is ever driven results in MASSIVE depreciation since the value was in the low milage. 914/6's regularly going for over $100K even for those that are not original and/or restored to a decent standard. A real 914/6 GT with race history recently went over $900K. Simple math. Has nothing to do with the Chalon kit. Whoever buys will strip the Chalon kit and put back to some sort of 914/6 configuration. Depending on on the reserve price and how the work is done (DIY or professional restoration), it could be a smoking deal or a money pit that barely breaks even. Based on the flamed out wreck with matching VIN's that hasn't sold, it seems that the value of the 914/6 VIN alone is somewhere above $10K and below $17K. In my mind car this could be higher since the start from point is so much better than with the flamed wreck. |
