Made it out for a couple of track days in the 914. One was an aborted mission - engine rattle that would have been bad to run on, then a second that was much better, but some ergonomics not sorted (lousy seat, shifter needs adjustment) One more track / teaching day coming up, then back to the barn for the winter... A number of mods planned before next season - more wiring, fuel cell, paint change, ducting.... on and on...

Finally getting on track at SMMSR with PCA HPDE next weekend. Then a VARA Octoberfest race event at Buttonwillow October 3 & 4. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
Any others on the west side going to the VARA event? I'm thinking after all this time locked up, we should have big time attendance. |

Whatcha doing with that old raby 4...??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I know, right? No, that engine is staying in the blue car. We'll convert that from an autocrosser into a historics racer over the winter: fuel cell, windshield, new seat, harnesses, etc. Should be on-track in '21 (if we have events...) The orange car will get a light LP-FProd-like 2L engine build... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) or sell it to someone who wants a good auto-xer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) |

Up to 19 914's for Summit Point!
I think we're planning to have a 914 group photo. If so, I'll try to post it. |

We made an offer to "make it all go away" and it was accepted... If someone is interested, hit me up privately. We have plenty of projects to keep Maximum Attack busy, the right offer (or swap) might take it. |

Raced at Laguna Seca this last weekend with the "Porsche Air Cooled Cup" folks. A class act -- highly recommended. They'll be doing a few more races this year.

Ran my Datsun 510 at the lime rock historics over Labor Day. 200 cars, one 914.

PCAPotomac did a great job putting on this event...class act at the Summit Point track. Three day event in perfect weather plus a Thursday open track practice day. Sadly lots of mishaps due to exuberance and mechanical issues resulted in carnage....
Saturday evening meal provided in take out boxes to help social distancing so did mine tailgate style... |

made it out to the amazing Eagles Canyon Raceway for a fun weekend of racing last weekend. Getting prepped for Oct 11th race at Hallet Motor Speedway near Tulsa if any vintage guys want to join in on the fun.

Rumor has it I may be bringing out the street 914 for a run at the Track Night in America at Thompson next week.
Yeah, not "racing", but better than sitting at home watching TV... (We're actually racing the HProd MR2 at VIR in a few weekends. I do need to get an engine built for the racer 914...) |

Gonna get some time in with the street 914 at a Track Night in America event next week...does that count? Ok, did it. In the Advanced group with all the big money...it was an experience. When I was in pitlane afterward (I was coaching the Intermediate Group), the starter guy (a buddy) asks me why I was soft-pedaling it down the front straight...I'm like, "man, that was W.F.O. all the way!!!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) ...and then I get to Turn 1 and was all impressed with myself that I could brake at the same place as in the race car...then I realize I'm doing something like 40 mph slower...
