will a type 4 vanagon crank slip into a type 4 914 case?
will a 2.0 crank fit into a 1.7 case with out machining ? will a 200 mm flywheel and pressure plate that is made to fit type 4 crank work okay with 1.7 thru 2.0 ? will 215mm flywheel from bus be okay with 914 transmission ? bus crank has pilot bearing in shaft 914 has in flywheel how do i go about using bus crank in 914 engine thank you ! |

Is this going into a bus, bug or a 914?
-914 trans must have a 914 flywheel. -for a bug (type 1) trans with a T4 bus flywheel you have to make the pilot hole the same size as a pilot bearing OD. You also need the crank spacer from a 914 crank. The easy route is you can buy a new type one 200mm conversion flywheel from AA. Best to find a good 1.7/1,8 case as they likely don't need a line bore. 2.0 Bus crank and rods can be used with 2.0 pistons. |
