Here's the /4 splice detail....cut the filter then cut back enough to make the wire mesh mate up and overlapped the paper a bit & wired it together. Ugly but works....Attached Image
P.S. The duct tape is 3M Nuclear Grade and it's really worth the price--sticks forever and is removable forever...amazing stuff.
