Rich? Retired? Seems that'll never happen....lol Yep, Rich is still there running his shop. I was just there last week. Geez, he's been my mechanic since 1980! Louie is still there too, but Larry has retired. Still have memories of Doug from many years ago...he was a good mechanic. Yeah, I've been going to Hans since 1975, & he did PPIs on probably a couple dozen 914s that year, before he gave his blessing on my 73 2L. His original shop that he started in 1972 was literally a block down from my apartment in Huntington Beach, & I could walk there - or push it when the clutch cable broke or other no-start issues. My Rick neighbor across the street had a 72 914/4 (1.7) who recommended him, & he'd taken his 914 to Hans at Circle Porsche, then his own shop, since he got it new in Aug. `71 from Circle. Hans is like Rich - except Austrian - & can listen to me pull up & diagnose things by the sound - as can Rich B. I'm sure, just from talking with him. You can't beat old school guys!
