Extremely rare (said to be only 5 in existence today) 1957 Rometsch Lawrence as seen at Circle Yer Wagens VW show in Sevierville, TN.
This car won Most Unique as well as Promoter's Choice Air Cooled. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Way cool, thanks for sharing. Looks very slow and heavy Hand formed aluminum body on a VW pan. The engine has dual carbs. The owner drove it from... Indiana IIRC (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) He had it at Amelia Island a couple years ago with other VW-based coachbuilt vehicles. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Looks like the one a buddy and I bought at the Bug In in the 70s. The motor was shot, he fixed it and I made about 100 bucks. I was happy as 16 year old could be. I had no idea what we had back then.

and, quite important , at least for me as a „real Berliner“ these cars have been made in Berlin (Berlin-Halensee, which was part of the American Sector of the occupied city (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) )
