Get sticky tires and don’t sidestep the clutch from launch or you’ll break first gear.

Northern NJ chapter of PCA has an active autocross program. If you are closer to south NJ or Philly, try Schattenbaum or Riesentoter regions. SCCA also does autocrosses, I don't know the specifics though.
914s are great autocross cars, and have been giant killers for decades. Put some good tires on it and go for it! |

Some sites (clubregistration.net or motorsportsreg.com) have dashboards you can customize to look for events near you. they will list multiple car club events. Then just check to see what the registration or car requirement needs are.
Considering its almost November, most clubs in the NJ area will have wrapped up events for the year as the weather gets cooler. Could find a wintercross or snowcross series or event? |

Slipry, I would just get the cars running good. All of it, engine, brakes, suspension. I'd use the tires you have first, inflate an extra 5 10lbs just to get the hang of it. I started auto-x event in 1964....still doing it today. Just a great sport and the people are second to none. Best, Mark

There quite a few clubs that run autox events in the NYC area. It's still early for the 2021 schedules. I run with Metro NY PCA, I will list a few clubs below:
http://metronypca.org/ https://nnjr-pca.com/ https://www.autox4u.com/ The 3 major sites are Tobay Beach, Nassau Coliseum, Meadowlands. I will be at the Metro PCA Autocross events at Tobay Beach, we usually start in March. |
