Hi Bob,
everything I have on this VIN is an old thread out of the good old roadglue forum from January 2009: QUOTE Hello folks - I'm new here (and to to 914's) I own a 'real' '70 914-6 (9140430756) that was returned to street configuration by a previous owner after spending at least part of its life as a full race car w/gutted interior, roll cage, roof/windshield removed, flares, etc.. I tried researching its past, but haven't been able to dig up any firm documentation of it's race history after talking to a couple of the previous owners.....and then the trail runs cold. It presently has no engine/transaxle, but retains flares (rear-steel, front-'glass). I've ordered a Porsche C of A, and will register the car on the 914/6 Registry once I have all the necessary info to report (the car is still on the opposite coast, so I have not seen it personally yet....but, yes, I did have someone I trust check it over for rust before purchasing it.) I'm wondering if anyone has any info on the car's past based on the VIN? A couple of pictures are attached FWIW, but I'm certain it looked a lot different back when it raced..... Thanks in advance for any help!! Bob but based on the very beginnig and ending of this thread, I would guess that might have been you ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

Hi Wolfgang - Thanks for your reply. You’re right, that’s my old post from Road Glue.
I’m at a “crossroads” ... and curious whether the rear (real -6) portion of the chassis has any significant historical value, or is just part of another abused old 914-6. |
