There are 3 codes for Irish green, the marketing code used by Porsche for the 911 912 & 914/6 in 70 & 71 which is 15, and marked on the badges. There is the VW code L60E used on the 914/4 and marked on the badges. Also the proper Porsche paint code 213 used on the the 911 & 912E badges from 1972. The normal code to look up at a paint supplier would be 213.
To my knowledge it is always called Irish green; i have seen forest green associated with Zambezi green , but it is not the correct name to use with any Porsche paint code that I know of. The kids at PCNA have a very hard time making up the reports. I have been going through a few hundred CoA & PPS, and under certain executives there are many more errors than under the majority. |

Actually, only the 15 is the Irish green. It is a two part code in 4 digit form, first two are body color and last two the roof color. The 10 is black. So 1515 is the 911 coupe form for Irish green, and 1510 for the Targa both 911 & 914. But since the 914/6 always had a black roof they never bothered to stamp the badge with 1510, just the 15.
There are anomalies though with this early 914/6 badge: Attached image(s) |
