Everyone,
Happy cyber Monday. I wanted to update everyone on 1.7 mufflers. @mepstein had mentioned that there maybe a need for an update to how things are progressing on the 1.7 mufflers. I had the flanges cut and am working on a proper fixture now. I have built a few 1.7 mufflers in the past that were 1 offs and not fixtured. the fixturing costs are quite expensive as they are water jet cut out of thick plate to ensure repeatability. The flanges also took twice as long as the laser cutter cut 2.0 flanges instead of the 1.7 flanges I spec'd. I have also ordered from Laser the internals for the mufflers in large QTY's to make these things even possible. I am developing these mufflers in between doing the close outs of the quiet mufflers, developing the new 914-6 heat exchangers, GT bumpers for multiple clients, working my day job, and also trying to work on my car which has passed by the 5 year window already. I have thousands of dollars invested in the 1.7 mufflers and want them done ASAP and hope that this will be the case over the next few weeks. I want to break even by the end of the year as I have to sell upwards of 20 1.7 mufflers to break even. I appreciate everyones patience and will remind you of the 914-6 heat exchanger project which took about 5 months from start to finish. These are not just a slap some inlets on and weld type of project but there is a real process and it is unique to the design. Please bare with me I promise it will be worth the wait. |

Will a 2056 be happy with the 1.7 version behind it? It was a toss up between getting a 2.0 quiet muffler or waiting for your 1.7 to come out. I have a set of the 1.7/1.8 SSIs on my 2056. I didn't feel the need to find a set of 2.0 SSIs. My current muffler is getting to loud for my old ears. i am in the same senario, i have the1.7 sshe , they are nice, mint and not in need for replacment but if i made a change to any of your SS muffler, i would be pulling the Triad, and like to keep my HE, so a center rear dual outlet GT style would be my choice, should be plug and play to the existing HE correct? how would you describe the sound of it to a triad? |

Plug and play if you buy the single side exit and GT bracket. The two out of the the back may not fit a stock valance. The hardware kit is free until the first of the year. I have a sound/video clip from a member here that I’ll post shortly. |
