Thanks, @Spoke https://www.spokeworksled.com/ Jerry is the man you want to talk to. I've purchased two complete sets (well, almost. I'm about to get the rears and reverse lights) and they are awesome. I think everyone here will agree with that as well. |

Been thinking about these more and more, if only for the brake lights.
Have to admit I like the incandescent glow of the original parking lights—but having been rear-ended once, the LED brake boards are something I just need to do. |

Yeah, they are definitely on the list of must haves if you drive your 914 on the Bay Area streets with all these fools doing everything but driving all over the place. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Have to admit I like the incandescent glow of the original parking lights, but having been rear-ended once… They clip in and can be removed in minutes if you are showing your car but this is one thing that is good to differ from stock. |

Have to admit I like the incandescent glow of the original parking lights—but having been rear-ended once, the LED brake boards are something I just need to do. That was my reasoning for switching to LED, and installing a 3rd brake light. People follow way too close, drive way too fast, and aren't paying attention to anything smaller than a Ford F250. |

I have Spoke's entire set up. They are Super AWESOME. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)
Got them from @914forme . I ended up with euro ones, I guess and one really neat-o thing I didn't expect is that even with US (all red) tail light lenses, when you hit the turn signal, it flashes orange, right through the red US plastic! Very stealthy! Maybe I should sell those original Euro Hella rear lenses... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

I have the full compliment of Spoke's LED lights.
During a Teenerpaluza run I had someone come up and tell me my brake lights were always on. So of course I checked, Nope just the tail lights. They are so bright it looks like brake lights. And when the brake lights come on brighter still. I would actually like the regular taillights to be a little Less bright. |

Jerry's kits are definitely the premium way to go but you can get LED replacement bulbs through Super Bright LEDs . They won't be as bright as Jerry's kits but way brighter than incandescent. You can even get them in warm white where you want that nostalgic glow. FYI, I put red LEDs in the rear side markers of my euro lenses so now the side markers look euro amber when they are off, but DOT legal US red when they are on. |

While I was doing a PCA tour the fellow following me pointed out how weak my tail lights were. With Spoke’s leds that problem is fixed.

I would actually like the regular taillights to be a little Less bright. You're not the first one to mention this. I'm thinking of toning down the running lights on future builds. You can do a simple modification to reduce the taillight intensity. There are 3 resistors which determine the taillight brightness. Removing one will reduce the brightness. The resistor can be either unsoldered (you'll likely need 2 solder pencils) or just crush one of the resistors with a good set of needle nose pliers. You won't void the warranty. Give me a shout if for more info if interested. I could do it for you if you want as well. |

Jerry's LED taillight assembly's were my Christmas present to myself during his Holiday Special last year. Great guy and great service; even if your stupid and try to install the front turn signal kits upside down. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

Spokes LED's are worth every penny, I put them in both of my 914s--lots of our local roads want you to run headlights on all the time, the LED taillights make it visible from much further away and the brake lights are a big pop of light vs the incandescent, even during daylight hours. They use less energy and create less heat and they're totally plug and play, as well as 100% reversible if you needed it 'back to stock' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

The “less heat” thing is a big deal. Half the twilight housings I’ve seen are melted from hot bulbs. Especially on early cars.
