Hello,
Need some advice on how to remove the chrome trim that goes around the heat air control panel on the dash. Any special or even goofy tools you can recommend I can use without bending up the chrome piece?
If I remember right from prior 914's, there is a tab at each end and 2 on the top and bottom.
Is that chrome piece attached to the heater fan control face plate or is it separate?
Thought if I removed the nut underneath that is attached to the front bulkhead, the entire assembly could be pulled forward INCLUDING the chrome trim. Maybe not?
Thanks in advance for the help.
Ed

There is a 6x1.0 stud on the front wall under the dash that holds the heater control in the dash. Remove the nut from it and pull the heater control out of the dash. Once out, you can remove the chrome trim easily.
