As Zach previously reported, the annual Central PA swap meet will not be in Hershey this year, but will be in Carlisle, PA.
I had lunch today with Steve & Derek from Aircooled Racing. Derek is interested in setting up a drive on Friday, April 30th. We'll leave from Carlisle mid-morning, have lunch along the way, tear up some country roads and tour some covered bridges in the area and return to Carlisle in the afternoon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) I'm trying to gauge interest in this event before he starts investing time into it. Please chime in if you'd like to participate. Thanks! Here is the event flyer: |

I'll be at the swap meet selling some of my hoarded stored treasures and rarities, bits, lets face it. Decent parts at a decent price, as it is better to sell then carry parts all over the country and sell nothing.
Will have the wrong vehicle for a nice drive. Most likely be my ratty 2003 Chevy Silverado with great suspension and brakes, LS power and patina'd body. Not as nice of a ride as my other cars, but then, some times you have to do what you have to do. We should start a thread for Hersey swap and parts coming over if people want to put out a feeler for items they need. Thanks for posting Bob (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

I'd love to come from Oregon via air to visit the Sway Meet, but I think PA is putting folks into quarantine for 10 days....is that true?
If yes, I'm out. |

I’m planning to go to SCCA Track Night in America at Daytona on the April 30th. Unless something changes I won’t be in PA for the weekend.

I am very interested. However, I don't think the car will be drivable by then.

Well, until the ban on travel to PA is lifted, it’s not going to be an option for us to attend. If they review the regulation, and factor in people who have been vaccinated, then maybe.

So... Is there some one (cops) stopping every car going from Philly to NYC to Jersey? No there is not?? See how the quarantine law is not enforced for them?

The travel ban is an absurdity to the tens of thousands who commute into and out of these states every day.

Yep - the travel bans are a joke. They have no way of enforcing. It is up to the individual to use good judgement at this point. Fortunately some of us do and unfortunately some of us do not. Hopefully we older guys are vaccinated by May 1st and ready to go. I am 2hrs east of Carlisle and happy to provide a place to stay to those that use good judgement.

If i'm in town I'm down, but I may be on the road. Doing "Hershey" at Carlisle has the potential to make this a MUCH larger event in the future. Or provide for a somewhat social distanced event this year.
